Mickey Rourke Says Frank Miller Is Ready -- 'And I'm Ready, Too' -- For 'Sin City 2’

Mickey Rourke as Marv in 'Sin City'It's been a while since we've heard anything about "Sin City 2," the proposed sequel to Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's live-action adaptation of Miller's grim-and-gritty graphic novel. Rumor has it that the project has been in limbo since Rodriguez's much-publicized decision to leave the Directors Guild of America in order to be able to give Miller co-director credit on the film.

At a recent Fox Searchlight party, MTV News' Kurt Loder caught up with actor Mickey Rourke, who played "Marv" in the original film, and asked him about his work on Darren Aronofsky's "The Wrestler" and what he'd heard about "Sin City 2." Rourke's character is expected to return for one of the prequel-style stories Miller scripted in the series for his cast of "Sin City" inhabitants.

“Frank’s ready,” Rourke told Loder. “And I’m ready, too.”

Prior to speaking with Rourke, the only news to hit the wire lately has involved various "Sin City" stars affirming their desire to see the sequel come to fruition, including Rosario Dawson and Rourke, who previously told MTV he'd love to work with Rodriguez again, despite the fact that it "scares the piss out of me to sit in make-up for three hours."

According to Rodriguez, he already has Miller's script for the film, but has been waiting to "reassess" the project's future since MTV spoke to him back in July.
