Just in case you thought the mania surrounding "The Dark Knight" was beginning to slow down, Apple has announced that this summer's box office champ will close out the year as the most downloaded movie currently offered on iTunes. While this may not come as too much of a surprise to those of us who have been paying attention to the Bat-juggernaut of late, what is astonishing is that these figures are based on pre-orders (like the upcoming DVD, "The Dark Knight" will be available for download on iTunes on December 9).
Apple reports that customers have been pre-ordering the film to own and as a rental at such a rapid clip that it has already well-surpassed the previous most-downloaded film offered on iTunes, Disney/Pixar's "Wall-E." Based on this news, it looks as though sales of the upcoming DVD should meet the studio's expectations, and it will be interesting to see if actual DVD sales will match the current trend taking place on iTunes.
Have you already pre-ordered "The Dark Knight" off of iTunes? Or are you waiting for the DVD to be released? We wanna know in the comments.
