'Batman: Arkham Asylum' Video Game Teaser Trailer Hits The Web

It looks like the deluge of comic-inspired video games will continue its invasion of store shelves based on the success of "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" and "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows" -- and we here at Splash Page couldn't be happier! This time, straight from the "No Brainer" file comes "Batman: Arkham Asylum" for XBox 360, PS3 and PC -- which, if we were to judge based on the teaser clip below that hit the internet over the weekend, looks to be a solid mix of a sandbox adventure mixed with "Silent Hill." In other words, the game that us superhero geeks and horror-fans have been waiting for.

While the official "Batman: Arkham Asylum" site still appears to be under construction, it has been announced that the story mode was written by Paul Dini with character designs by DC/Wildstorm. There's also rumors floating around the web that, in addition to playing as Batman, some villains may also be playable, and I think we all know who has a permanent suite at the terrifying home for the criminally insane, right?

While no gameplay is featured in the trailer, it still has more then enough elements shown to get us excited on a Monday morning!

So what do ya say, readers? Does it look like another comic video game winner here? What are you hoping for with an "Arkham Asylum" video game? Talk it up in the comments.
