New 'Watchmen' Trailer Goes Online; Check Out A Gallery Of Our Favorite Images!

Be sure to check out our new movie show "Spoilers" airing Friday, 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on MTV for an exclusive first look at "Watchmen"!

Earlier this week, we gave you your first look at the new "Watchmen" promo poster featuring Malin Ackerman as Silk Spectre II (and five other posters that debuted that day around the 'Net), but fans of the groundbreaking graphic novel received another taste of "Watchmen" with tonight's premiere of a new trailer.

Sure, the previous "Watchmen" trailer had everyone talking (mostly about Dr. Manhattan), and Zack Snyder and the rest of the film's cast have kept fans' interest piqued by releasing featurettes focusing on -- among other topics -- the ladies of "Watchmen" and the look and feel of the film, but what about the new trailer?

After the jump, we've posted a gallery of some of our favorite moments from the new trailer, and some thoughts about what this new look at "Watchmen" reveals.

While quite a bit of the new trailer featured slightly extended versions of scenes that have already appeared in one form or another around the 'Net, there was a lot to like about the new material -- and plenty to make the wait until March 6, 2009, more difficult to endure. The new trailer was basically, well... It was Rorschach's world, and we were just living in it for a little while.

Fans received a much better look at the shifting ink-blot effect of his mask and the mannerisms that made Jackie Earle Haley tell MTV he "almost went nuts" bringing Rorschach to the big screen. We also get a look at the attack on The Comedian (who actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan called "the creepiest guy in the world") and a few more scenes from the Keane Riots -- including the arrival of The Comedian and Nite Owl.

Of course, this won't be the last exclusive look at "Watchmen" you'll get this week, as the debut episode of MTV's new movie show "Spoilers" (Friday, 7:30 p.m. ET/PT) will include even more first-look material from the much-anticipated film. Until then, however, check out this gallery of images from the trailer that we included here for no other reason than the fact that they impressed the heck out of us.
