Josh Brolin On Possible Role As Jonah Hex: 'Nope'

Josh BrolinRoughly a month ago, we reported on rumors that Josh Brolin was being considered for the role of Jonah Hex -- DC Comics' horribly-scarred Western anti-hero -- in a big screen adaptation. Given his role as Llewelyn Moss in 2007's "No Country For Old Men," Brolin seemed like a natural for the role, and fanboys rejoiced.

Oh, but what a difference a month's worth of rampant Internet speculation makes. In a recent sit-down with, Brolin was asked whether he was going to be taking on the role, and answered with a blunt, "Nope." And from that point, it only became less likely that he'd be in the "Jonah Hex" movie from the answers he gave... for now, that is.

"I think Jonah Hex is a really, really interesting story. I think it would be risky also, which I like, and I don’t know if it’s the thing to do," Brolin continued when pressed as to why he wouldn't be interested in the role. "I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t know. It’s a very good time. It’s a very good time and I don’t want to slight anybody and I don’t want to insult anybody, but the fact of the matter is with more decisions comes a little more pressure."

Brolin then continued on in the interview to discuss how he chooses his roles which, quite frankly, probably makes more sense to him than anyone else. That said, even though he seems to give the possibility of playing Hex a solid "no" for now, he does appear to be open to the idea should the project meet his criteria. But for now it seems as though Brolin clearly doesn't know if he's on board or not.

Do you think Brolin would be a good choice for Jonah Hex? Is there anyone else out there who might be better suited for the part? Let's hear what you have to say in the comments.
