Straight from the "So Ridiculous We Hope It's True" files, rumors of a possible team-up of Stan Lee and "Posh & Becks" (a.k.a. soccer star David Beckham and his wife, Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham) are beginning to percolate on the internet this morning.
According to a report on TheCelebrityCafe.com, it appears as though comic book icon "Stan The Man" would like to work with the mega-celebs on a possible crime-fighting adventure series. CelebrityCafe quotes the Spider-Man creator as saying, "We could make them a crime fighting team where the soccer is just a facade. Or we could make them spies or we could make it a comedy where one of them wants to be an adventurer."
"Comedy" indeed, Mr. Lee, but as fans already know, Posh & Becks wouldn't be the first time Lee has created superhero alter egos for celebrities -- let Splash Page remind you that he's currently working with Paris Hilton on an animated series, and he also spearheaded "Striperella," which starred the vocal talents of one Miss Pamela Anderson.
However, those of you dying to see this train wrec -- er, property come to fruition, don't hold your breath. These are all just Lee's ideas at this point, as he points out, "I haven't met the Beckhams yet but I think we could do a great show."
So what do you say, True Believers -- think The Man might be onto something with a David and Victoria Beckham crime fighting comic, television series or film? Talk about it in the comments.
