‘Wanted,’ ‘Hellboy II’ DVD Specs Released, ‘Incredible Hulk’ DVD To Have Alternate Opening

Just in time for the holiday season, Universal Studios Home Entertainment has released specs on its upcoming slate of superhero DVDs including “Wanted,” “Hellboy II: The Golden Army” and “The Incredible Hulk,” each of which will get the “collectors set” treatment.

Fans of Marvel’s Jade Giant — and moreso Edward Norton’s portrayal of the Doc Bruce Banner — will definitely want to get their mitts on a copy of the “Incredible Hulk” DVD and Blu-ray gift sets; the stand-out feature being an alternate opening scene to the film. In addition to the standard hours of additional footage and extensive background info, the set will also feature a digital version of the film for viewing on portable movie devices. Blu-ray purchasers will also get their set in a collectible 3-D package.

Guillermo del Toro’s “Hellboy II” will be offered as a three-disc DVD or two-disc Blu-ray gift set, and boast a digital copy of the film and several bonus featurettes. In addition to the actual movie and special features, fans who pick up the collectors edition of “Hellboy II” will also get a director’s production journal, a poster and a Golden Army statue included with the box set.

Finally, “Wanted” — this summer’s surprise hit based on Mark Millar’s ultra-violent Top Cow comic series — will also be available in a deluxe collectors set in both DVD and Blu-ray versions, and include a digital copy as well as an insert booklet of assassins and collectible postcards (because, let’s face it — nothing says “Dear Pen Pal” like a picture of Angelina Jolie blasting away with a 9mm handgun).

Will you be picking up any of these box sets? Do you think collector box sets of comic book movies are worth the cash? Let us know in the comments.
