Olympics 2012 Athletes Reveal The Songs That Get Them Pumped

The Summer Games are sure to bring many celebrities to London from actors, artists and even U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama. But for the next few weeks, the real focus of the world will be on the thousands of Olympians representing their respective countries.

MTV News caught up with some of the U.S. athletes in New York City and asked them which artists get them pumped up before the big competition. Here’s what they said:

Music News

Arielle Martin, BMX Racing

Fact: During the summers, Arielle and her husband ride their twin Ducati Monsters.

Music: Motley Crue – "Kickstart My Heart." "We get time trial song every time we go on the track to qualify, individually, and that’s been mine for the last three years."

Betsey Armstong, Water Polo

Fact: She's the only player on the USA team not from the state of California.

Music: "A lot of rap music, a lot of Jay-Z, Drake, Rihanna."

Race Imboden, Fencing

Fact: Prior to heading to the Olympic Games, Race worked as an intern at music label, Fool's Gold.

Music: "Danny Brown, he’s got some southern soul to him. I like it."

Dagmara Wozniak, Fencing

Fact: At age 20, she attended the 2008 games as a replacement athlete for the U.S. team.

Music: “I like Kanye West, Lady Gaga.”

Nicholas Long, BMX Racing

Fact: He dreams of one day seeing the world … while on his bike.

Music: "I listen to pretty much metal rock music, Miss May I or Devil Wears Prada."

Timothy Morehouse, Fencing

Fact: Tim competed at the 2004 Olympics, and prior to that was a 7th grade teacher.

Music: Bruce Springsteen, Counting Crows, Ashlee Simpson, but his ultimate favorite, he says is, "Rocky, 'Going to Fly Now,' if I ever need to get going, that song never fails."
