Country-pop darling Taylor Swift has been working away on her untitled fourth album and the singer has given us a glimpse into her writing sessions with a new video posted online that features songwriting collaborator Ed Sheeran.
Swift posted the brief clip on her Twitter page, which features Sheeran quietly plucking on his acoustic guitar – performing a rendition of his hit track "Lego House" – with Swift and an unnamed female sitting cross-legged and singing along with him.
Sheeran is a 21-year-old English singer/songwriter/rapper/producer, who has made a splash overseas this year. He won big at the 2012 Brit Awards, taking home Best British Male Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough of the Year. He also co-wrote the song “Moments” for boy band One Direction’s debut album.
Swift is actually the one who approached Sheeran. As a source told The Sun, she is “into her British music and became a massive fan of Ed … there is a mutual affection between the pair."
Other collaborators reportedly set to appear on Swift's disc include Dan Wilson, Butch Walker and Mark Foster of Foster the People.
The video has a quaint fly-on-the-wall feel as the trio appear to be relaxing on the floor of a kitchen as they sing away. Watch below!
The partnership with megastar Swift will surely garner more attention for Sheeran’s music on this side of the Atlantic, not to mention the added financial bonus — credit on an album track could earn him as much as £200,000.
A release date has yet to be revealed for the effort; however, we expect to hear some amazing new music from Swift before the end of 2012.
