Beliebers Come To Justin's Defense In Paternity Case

Justin Bieber

This morning on the "Today" show, Justin Bieber addressed the paternity suit filed by a 20-year-old woman claiming she gave birth to Bieber's child three months ago. In a hand-signed affidavit, sworn under the penalty of perjury, Mariah Yeater states that she had unprotected sex with the singer backstage at his October 25, 2010, concert at Los Angeles' Staples Center and that she became pregnant as a result.

Of the accusations, Bieber said, "I'd just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true. I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim." He also denied having ever even met Yeater, explaining, "I think it's crazy because every night after the show, I've gone right from the stage right to my car. So it's crazy that some people want to make up some false allegations, but to set the record straight, none of it is true. Never met the woman."

Of course, Bieber's notoriously devoted fan base has been on his side all along. After the story broke, we reached out to some of the top Beliebers on Twitter to get their thoughts on the accusations.

Read on to see what they had to say.

"When I first heard about this whole Bieber daddy drama, I kind of believed it at first. After all who would get the courts involved if it wasn't true? You could get into huge trouble," @RespectJustinB told MTV News. "But as more and more things came out about it, it just seemed fishy. Things didn't really match up. I even compared Justin's baby picture with the baby that's supposedly his and they don't even resemble each other. I don't know Justin personally but the way the girl made Justin seem so rude, I just don't buy it. Look how amazing he treats Selena, it shows how caring he is for girls. So for him to just hook up with someone, it just doesn't seem true. He's said in interviews he would only have sex with a girl he loves and cares about and I'm going to believe him over some random girl who has his 'kid.' Everyone will just have to wait and see what the paternity test results are. Either way, I'll still be supporting the Biebs!"

Twitter user @JDBWorldWide echoed the unconditional support, saying, "I feel that people talk too much and the rumor isn't true. I think if anyone knows Justin well, it's his fans. And he trusts us to stick up for him in situations like this."

Some Beliebers think that Yeater's decision to make these claims was motivated by a desire for attention or even money, including @HouseofSwag, who told MTV, "I and so many of us agree that this is just a scam to get money from Justin as we all know Justin would not do such a thing. What Mariah Yeater is doing is not fair."
