Lil Wayne, Crystal Bowersox And Taylor Swift's Million: This Week's Deep Cuts

Now that was a busy week. Everybody at MTV News has been on high alert for the past few days, tracking the astounding chart success of one of the biggest crossover country stars in history (Taylor Swift), following the return of one of the best rappers alive (Lil Wayne) and catching up with an old "American Idol" favorite (Crystal Bowersox). Along the way, we also celebrated a World Series victory, got excited about the return of a late night icon, made plans for a great tour in 2011 and wondered exactly what rapper best embodied the spirit of John Quincy Adams.

If that sounds like a lot, well, it was. So just in case you missed out on any of those stories (and everything else we covered this week on the MTV Newsroom Blog), check out the links below for a complete digest of the week's highlights before you settle into the leisure part of your week.

» You don't have to shout "Free Weezy!" anymore, as Lil Wayne is free from his jail cell at Rikers Island. If you want to follow Wayne's every move during his first weekend of freedom in eight months, be sure to bookmark weezywatch.mtv.com for constant updates.

» It was a big week for Wayne, as he also got a left field endorsement from none other than former president Bill Clinton. With Kanye West relating to George W. Bush, we wondered: If Rutherford B. Hayes had been a rapper, which rapper would he be?

» The other biggest new story of the week belonged to Taylor Swift, who sold one million copies of Speak Now in a single week, putting her next to legends like Britney Spears and Usher.

» In other Swift news, she has her own fragrance coming, which means she can now compare business notes with Mariah Carey and Jessica Simpson.

» Last weekend saw the triumphant "Rally to Restore Sanity" in Washington, D.C., which featured an incredible performance from Ozzy Osbourne.

» Conan O'Brien's new show starts this Monday (November 8th), but he teased a bit of it earlier this week with "Show Zero," which was a quick (but hilarious) run through a sample show.

» How did your favorite celebrity celebrate Halloween? Heidi Klum went a little insane.

» If you miss "Jersey Shore" (and who doesn't?), you should definitely vote for DJ Pauly D as the "Sexiest Man on Facebook."

» Already trying to figure out what tours you want to catch in 2011? Be sure to set aside some time and funds for the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block tilt starting in May.

» Crystal Bowersox's debut album is coming out in December, but MTV News' Jim Cantiello got a sneak peek at some new songs at an intimate show.

» "Dancing With the Stars" continued to throw curve balls, as they celebrated their 200th episode by getting rid of three-time NBA champion Rick Fox.

» Speaking of curve balls, the San Francisco Giants won the World Series. Freak forever!

» Finally, do yourself a favor and listen to the new Enrique Iglesias single over and over again. It'll make you feel funny for all the right reasons.
