Spotted: Justin Bieber Is Turning Japanese

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Justin Bieber already has two chart-conquering albums under his belt, so it's about time the 16-year-old Canadian singer attack a new sales universe. Bieber just released his first book "First Step 2 Forever: My Story," which recounts his early life and his rise from a vocal enthusiast to an international superstar via the power of YouTube and Usher. He put that international status on display early on Wednesday (October 13) when he attended a meet and greet event with a massive group of fans at an amusement park in Tokyo, Japan. Bieber stormed La Qua Garden to perform a few tunes, meet a load of devoted Japanese fans and receive a gold record for his sales record in Japan. Bieber may be a Canadian who sings in English, but the language of pop (and breathless teen devotion) is clearly universal.

Bieber wasn't the only star rolling with the jet set, as Adam Lambert arrived in Kuala Lumpur for an upcoming (and much-publicized) concert, while Bowling for Soup performed a concert at Shepherds Bush Empire in London.
