"We are working on the Argentine tango this week, and it's sensual and complicated. I'm giving it 150 percent because I'm determined to maintain, or beat, our scores from last week. [Fans] should expect to see me and Tony doing a very fun tango. I can't reveal the song or my costume just yet — but you'll love it."
-Former "The Hills" star and current "Dancing With the Stars" front-runner Audrina Patridge, previewing her next performance on the hit dancing competition show. Patridge will go up against the other remaining contestants on Monday night's (October 11) episode of the show. She has so far fared extremely well on the show, regularly posting excellent scores and creating essentially a two-horse race between herself and former "Dirty Dancing" star Jennifer Grey. Patridge is not the only MTV star competing on the show, as "Jersey Shore" breakout Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is also in the mix, and though his initial scores were weak, he has shown improvement recently.
In the meantime, Patridge still has an uphill battle, as the competition remains fierce and she is also battling an injury. "I sprained my ankle last week, so I have been trying to elevate and ice it when I can and be extra careful not to further injure myself," she told MTV News' Jocelyn Vena via e-mail. "Right now, I'm just pushing past the pain, because I want to win! I can't afford to miss out on any rehearsals at this point." And though the dancing is fast and furious, she has found the time to bond with some of the other participants. "I see Jennifer Grey and Bristol Palin a lot. We seem to be on a similar rehearsal schedule," she said. "They are both so sweet. Jennifer gives me tons of great advice — she really is such a nurturing person. I love her. Bristol is very sweet too. She's really coming out of her shell, and learning how to be a performer."
