Spotted: Gavin Rossdale Plays With Some New Hot Wheels

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

For a while, it looked like Gwen Stefani would be running circles around her husband Gavin Rossdale as far as musical output went. Since the break-up of post-grunge hitmakers Bush, Rossdale took some time off, toyed with a new collective called Institute and pursued a solo career (which yielded a surprise hit in the track "Forever May You Run," which was co-written by Linda Perry). All the while, Stefani had broken free from No Doubt, dropped two beloved solo albums, made a bunch of guest appearances and even got her old band back together. But since the return of No Doubt, the band has toured but not released any new music. In the meantime, Bush put together a new album called Everything Always Now that is scheduled to hit stores later this year, and Rossdale has been seen just about everywhere lately. On Wednesday (October 6), he stopped by the Grove in Los Angeles to help launch Hot Wheels R/C Stealth Rides, a new line of toy cars (and favorites of his two sons).

Rossdale wasn't the only star out in the street, as Busta Rhymes helped celebrate the 10th anniversary of BET's "106 & Park" in New York and Nicole Richie signed copies of her new book "Priceless" in Los Angeles.
