"He's a two face is what he is. He acted like we were in a committed relationship, and then he was prancing around with Kim Kardashian on the beaches like they're a couple. He's using the flirty card with everybody he meets, and I'm not gonna fall for that. I'm 35 years old. I only have about five good years left in me, and I'm not going to waste my time on that guy."
-Late night talk show centerpiece, best-selling author and 2010 MTV Video Music Awards host Chelsea Handler, joking about her deteriorating relationship with 16-year-old Canadian heartthrob (and VMA performer and nominee) Justin Bieber. The singer has appeared on Handler's show twice in the past, and he has spent much of the time during those interviews flirting with the host. But the recent faux-romance between Bieber and Kim Kardashian has soured Handler on the "Baby" singer's advances.
In a conversation with MTV News' Jim Cantiello, Handler also talked about her plans for the show. She won't be doing any singing or dancing, though she did tease the idea of cameos by "Chelsea Lately" regulars Chuy Bravo and Chunk the dog. She also talked about her favorites in the Best Hip-Hop Video category (she favors Jay-Z's "On to the Next One," though only because she wants to scream out Swizz Beatz' name during sex) and isn't at all surprised that Lady Gaga was nominated 13 times. Handler will join comedy luminaries like Chris Rock, Ben Stiller, Russell Brand and Roseanne Barr as VMA hosts, and she'll do it when the show goes live on September 12 at 9 p.m. on MTV.
