Justin Bieber Special Guests Boyz II Men: The Essential Tracks

On Tuesday night (August 31), '90s R&B sensations Boyz II Men hit the stage to give Justin Bieber a little back-up on his tune "U Smile." Bieber has admitted that they are kind of his heroes, so it must have been kind of amazing to have the guys join him on stage at his Madison Square Garden show, where he also happened to be taping his 3-D concert flick.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the Boyz, we here at the MTV Newsroom have compiled a little list of some of the guys' best songs for your listening pleasure.

In what had to be one of the most epic collaborations of the '90s, the guys of Boyz II Men hooked up with Mariah Carey for the "One Sweet Day," off her 1995 release Daydream. The track about loosing a loved one was inescapable that following summer (it holds the record for longest continuous run at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, with 16 weeks under its belt). And no one was complaining.

Another epic collabo took place that same year when the guys sang the hook on LL Cool J's "Hey Lover." The ladies might love Cool James, but they also loved Michael McCary, Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman.

"On Bended Knee," from 1994's multi-platinum II, was an epic breakup ballad from the guys that mirrored some of their other equally epic breakup ballads (like 1995's "Water Runs Dry" and 1992's "End Of The Road"). Apparently the guys had a lot of trouble with the ladies, but their heartache made for some fine tunes.

When they weren't getting their hearts broken, they were falling in love. They had girls swooning and scored tons of radio play with their 1994 tune "I'll Make Love To You." And finally, let's kick it really old school and remember "Motown Philly," the up-tempo debut single from the group that paid homage to their hometown city and gave us such iconic chorus as "Motown Philly's back again/ Doin' a little east coast fling/ Boyz II Men going off/Not too hard, not too soft." Indeed.
