Trey Songz And Nicki Minaj Fuel Jay Sean's #MusicMonday

Really, you should be listening to music every day, but thanks to Twitter, Monday has become the best day of the week to discover new songs, show some love to the tune currently dominating your iPod playlist and quietly judge the listening habits of your closest friends. Yes, it's #MusicMonday, one of Twitter's most enduring trending topics. Hence "MTV News' #MusicMonday," a weekly look at the songs your favorite stars are currently crushing on.

This week, Jay Sean sends love and respect to Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj for "Bottoms Up."

Jay Sean scored a massive hit in 2009 with "Down," and he has rarely slowed down (or been off the radio) since then. He is getting ready to release his next album Freeze Time, which features the steadily-climbing hit song "2012" (featuring a clutch guest spot by Nicki Minaj) and will include other collaborations with the likes of Pitbull and Mary J. Blige. Sean is still building his place in the business, and on this #MusicMonday, he is cranking up one of his collaborators and a guy who has clawed his way up through the ranks.

"Right now I've been bumping Trey Songz' 'Bottoms Up,'" Sean told MTV News during a recent visit to the Newsroom. "First of all, I love Nicki's verse in it as always. She gives a shout-out to Baby and Slim, which is really nice. I just want to give props to Trey, because I have a lot of respect for him. His time came now, after five years of really hard work. I love it when I see people win like that. He's a really nice guy as well, and I did a few shows with him. So I got to big up Trey Songz."
