Spotted: Madonna Calls The Shots In Paris

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with our intrepid correspondents. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.

Much in the same way that Babe Ruth would have been enshrined in the Hall of Fame even if he had never picked up a bat, Madonna likely would have been considered a legend even if she hadn't ever recorded a single note of music (though it certainly hasn't hurt her). Her film work is full of iconic roles (such as Eva Peron in "Evita," which won her a Golden Globe) and her electric presence has kept many films crackling (like her work in "Dick Tracy," "Desperately Seeking Susan" and "A League of Their Own"). In recent years, she has turned her attention behind the camera, where she seems to be developing a voice as an auteur. She directed 2008's "Filth and Wisdom" (an unconventional romance story starring Gogol Bordello frontman Eugene Hutz) and was seen in Paris over the weekend working on her latest directorial effort "W.E." (a time-jumping romantic drama based partially around the real story of Wallis Simpson). The film should be out some time next year, further advancing Madonna's claim as a dominant force in all media.

She wasn't the only star taking care of business, as Iggy Pop helped close out the Sonisphere Festival in the U.K. and a number of funny people gathered to roast David Hasselhoff in Los Angeles. Click here for these photos as well as the entire "Spotted" archive, which features over 400 candid shots of stars like Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, the Jonas Brothers, Jessica Simpson, Adam Lambert, Rihanna, Katy Perry, 50 Cent, Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas!
