Happy Birthday, Perez Hilton!

We already sent a virtual cupcake to Damon Albarn this morning, but we would be remiss if we didn't wish Perez Hilton a very happy birthday. The self-proclaimed "Queen of All Media" (born Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr.) turns 32 years old today, and we have no doubt that he will find a handful of ways to celebrate.

Though he got his first taste of fame by poking fun at celebrities and drawing on paparazzi photos, Hilton's more recent work has been more far-reaching. His enthusiasm for music has fueled his ushering along of the careers of Lady Gaga, Mika and apparently Justin Bieber.

Just this past weekend, he oversaw the most talked-about party at the annual South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, where he hosted superstars Snoop Dogg and Hole alongside buzz-hungry acts Alphabeat, Marina and the Diamonds and VV Brown. Hilton also told MTV News' James Montgomery that he also really enjoyed sets by Lissie and Miike Snow.

Hilton's work isn't just about music and celebrity, either. He also blogs about gay rights issues and political injustices everywhere, bringing those social issues to his massive audience. He isn't just about diving headlong into celebrity culture — he's also a man with a mission.

Had she been available, Hilton probably would have invited Lady Gaga to the SXSW party, as their mutual admiration for one another is well documented. So as a special birthday treat for Hilton, we hope he enjoys another spin through Gaga's "Poker Face."
