Coachella 2010: Who Will Rock The Desert?

UPDATE: Jay-Z, Muse and Gorillaz will be your headliners.

It's still freezing in most of the United States, but fans of rock music, deserts and mass hallucinations are already thinking about the weather warming up. The annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival — held every year in Indio, California — is set to announce its lineup today. We'll have a full update later today on the bands who will fill the stages in Indio on April 16, 17 and 18.

A handful of posters for Coachella 2010 have been circulating on the Internet since yesterday, and some of the lineups look astonishingly like the fantasy Coachella lineup we dreamed up about a month ago. The first one features eye-catchers like the Arcade Fire, Pavement, Lady Gaga, Faith No More and Thom Yorke. Another sports supposed headlining sets from the Rolling Stones, Sade, Muse and the Beastie Boys. The third has David Bowie, Wilco, Gorillaz and Vampire Weekend. There's no word on whether or not any of these lineups are real, but we'll know pretty soon.

Of the three posters, there are a few bands that do appear all three times. Faith No More is listed three times, which seems to suggest that they'll be showing up (which would make their appearance in the desert their first North American show since getting back together last summer). Each poster also seems pretty confident that Jack White will show up, though whether it's with his current band the Dead Weather or a reunited White Stripes. Also on all three? Sunny Day Real Estate (Hayley Williams will be excited!), LCD Soundsystem and Vampire Weekend.

No matter what the lineup ends up being, Coachella is always a highlight, and just think: Summer festival season is creeping up on us.

Who do you want to see at Coachella? Is it your favorite festival, or do you prefer Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
