Lady Gaga's Secret Polaroid History

Earlier today, Lady Gaga announced that she would be embarking on a new collaboration — not with another artist, but rather with Polaroid, the venerable instant-camera makers. She'll be assuming the role of "creative director" for a specialty line of products for the company.

"Well, I'm definitely a Polaroid camera girl," she told people earlier today at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where they unveiled the news to the public. "I really believe in the lifestyle and injecting the things that I love into [this]. ... For me, what I'm really excited about is bringing back the artistry and the nature of Polaroid."

For anybody who has grown up in the digital age and doesn't have any experience with Polaroid cameras, they provided instant gratification when you wanted to capture a moment and immediately have it in your hand. Just as often, the girl at the party with the Polaroid camera would manage to catch everybody in a compromising position or in a less-than-ideal circumstance. If Gaga is indeed "a Polaroid camera girl," then she no doubt has a shoe box at home full of shots that look not unlike this.

Didn't know she was a cheerleader, did you?

We're very excited about this new venture for Gaga (as we are for just about anything she does), but what do you hope will come out of this project? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
