Ke$ha Brings Funk, Feathers To 'The Tonight Show'

2010 is only seven days old, but it is already a pretty good year for Ke$ha. Last week, she set a new record when her chart-topping single "Tik Tok" sold 610,000 downloads, making it the biggest-selling single week for a female artist ever. Her debut album Animal just hit stores and has been sitting on top of the iTunes charts since Tuesday. Trends even suggest that she could even be the artist to unseat Susan Boyle on top of the Billboard album chart.

And on Wednesday night (January 6), she stormed the stage of "The Tonight Show" for a performance of "Tik Tok" and a brief chat with host Conan O'Brien. Following the run-through of the song (which featured a whole lot of confetti and pelvic thrusting), she sat down next to fellow guests Matthew Broderick and Robin Tunney and showed O'Brien her show-specific T-shirt. "Have you seen my shirt?" Ke$ha asked, referring to her black sequined top. "It says Conan plus K-Money — that's me — equals BFF." O'Brien seemed flattered by the idea that Ke$ha was his new best friend, but the highlight came right after.

"I have a present for you," she said as she held up an item covered by a black handkerchief. She pulled it off with a flourish (as though she was performing a magic trick), revealing a coffee mug that said "Best Friend" and a string of feathers that the singer pinned into O'Brien's hair. The host gamely wore it while wrapping up the show, capping off yet another highlight in Ke$ha's still-growing career.
