Beastie Boys, Sade And Against Me!: The Newsroom's Most Anticipated Albums Of 2010

By Matt Harper

Recently, we at MTV News laid out some of what we considered to be the most anticipated albums of 2010. These high-profile releases included Christina Aguilera, Eminem, and Blink-182. But who did we forget? We took a quick (and highly unscientific) poll around the office, and realized there were a few players not yet accounted for. So without further adieu, here is our list of the three most hotly-anticipated albums of 2010 that you may have forgotten about.

Beastie Boys, Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1

Yes, the new Beastie Boys album was slated to come out September 15th, 2009, but due to the unfortunate discovery that Adam "MCA" Yauch had cancer, the album's release had to be indefinitely postponed. But things are looking up: Adam has been receiving treatment and promises that it shouldn't affect his voice. So let's all wish Yauch a speedy recover, and look forward to finding out exactly what a "Hot Sauce Committee" does.

Sade, Soldier of Love

Nearly a full decade has elapsed since Sade's last studio offering Lovers Rock, but that's no reason to count her out. We're expecting her to bring her dark, soulful melodies into the new decade when her album hits shelves in February. But we're not the only ones anticipating her return: Drake (also known for his smooth lyrical delivery) recently revealed that she's one of the artists he's looking to work with in the near future. So if the stars align and we're blessed with a Drake/Sade collabo, expect a lot of babies born in 2011.

Against Me!, White Crosses

There hasn't been tons of official news out there about the follow-up to 2007's critically-acclaimed New Wave, but recent Internet rumblings suggest that the raucous Gainesville, Florida foursome have been hard at work. There's no official release date yet, but frontman Tom Gabel announced (via his blog) that they had 12 finished tracks and that the album would be called White Crosses.
