Ke$ha Wants To ‘Bring The Glitter’ To Lilith Fair

Pop music newbie Ke$ha will be hitting the road next summer for the revival of Lilith Fair, which returns to action after a decade-long nap. She’ll be surrounded by Lilith vet and founder Sarah McLachlin as well as ladies like Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Colbie Caillat and Corinne Bailey Rae.

But there’s only one woman on board that Ke$ha can’t wait to hit the road with: Country music lass Emmylou Harris. “That is really exciting. This is a random one,” she told MTV News about her choice artist to be traveling with this summer. “I’m really exciting to be touring with Emmylou Harris because my mom wrote country music and I’m a huge fan of Johnny Cash and old country. And Emmylou Harris is just such a classy woman. I’m excited to share you know not a stage but a festival with her.”

Ke$ha, whose raucous dance track “Tik Tok” currently sits in third place on the Billboard Hot 100, thinks she has a certain vibe that she is excited to bring to the folk-heavy Lilith fair stage. “I think it’s cool,” she said. “I definitely will bring the glitter and I think I can also bring a youthful fun, like a strong woman but in just a kind of a fun way to Lilith.”

So what does she think made her the perfect candidate for the tour? Her girl power, obviously. “I think I’m on Lilith because it’s famous for standing for women and strong women and I’m really excited and honored to be in that group and classified as a strong female woman,” she explained. “I’m really excited to be included in that its kind of a big deal. It’s scary now that we’re talking about it.”
