Sources tell Us Weekly that the twosome are “consummate professionals” despite the split. The source adds that they “will continue to work together and remain best friends, which is where the relationship started.”
The season finale of the “Vampire Diaries” airs next week, and the show was recently picked up for a fifth season. So, if the report is true, despite the break-up, fans can remain calm that all will be fine on set between the former couple when they start shooting season five later this summer.
Neither actor has commented on the rumor nor is there any word on when the split occurred. Ian and Nina started dating, publicly, back in 2011. As of late, Nina has been getting in quite a few ladies’ nights with the recently single Julianne Hough. The two hung out together earlier this week at the splashy Met Ball, even tweeting about their hang-out sesh, leaving us all a bit jealous that we’re not in their clique. Nina also hit up the “Great Gatsby” premiere solo last week in NYC.
What’s Ian up to? Well, he tweeted about his trip to Brussels this week, as he continues to be a do-gooder heading up his own environmentally minded foundation.
What are your thoughts about the rumored break-up?
