While there, he shook the hands of some of the usual and more unusual suspects, and happened to have his drink personally shaken and stirred by the MSNBC personality.
“It was pretty action packed. It was my second one, and this time it was much more casual cause this time I was not there with a publication,” he explained. “I just went with a friend. So I was a plus one. I absolutely crashed. You get to meet a lot of very interesting people.”
Like who, Darren?
“There were a few I was too scared to say ‘hi’ to,” he explained. “Piers Morgan. There’s a lot of people a lot of political types. I shook hands with Newt Gingrich, unexpected. And I’ve always wanted to have drinks with Rachel Maddow, and she made me an Old Fashioned. She was running the bar at a party cause she’s badass and wanted to run the bar and didn’t want to hang out with people.”
And Rachel might not want to check out Darren’s Yelp review of her bartending skills. He shared, “It was OK. She shouldn’t quit her day job. I think she knows what she’s doing.”
