5 Things To Do Before Catching The Movie Awards

by Jessica Marshall

The stage is set for the MTV Movie Awards this weekend! The red carpet will be ablaze with megastars like Emma Watson, Brad Pitt, Selena Gomez, Jamie Foxx and show host (one of our fave funny girls!) Rebel Wilson, among many others. Will you be ready for the star-studded action?

While the Golden Popcorn is busy popping in preparation for the live TV broadcast, you can do some major prepping yourself. Here are five things to do before watching the MTV Movie Awards this Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET.

Brush up on the nominees
Make a to-do list of all the nominated movies, performances and movie moments you haven’t seen yet and have a pre-show marathon (see a list of the nominees here). There is some sizzling stuff this year (mmm, Best Kiss!). We have no doubt you’ll want to see that epic award-winning kiss more than once anyway.

Get a sneak peek
Watch exclusive and hilarious online video with Rebel Wilson, Mark Wahlberg, Joe Manganiello, Anna Kendrick and more leading up to the show and treat yourself to sneak peeks of “Catching Fire,” (omg omg!) “Iron Man 3,” and “The To Do List.”

Make an acceptance speech
What if you were up for Best Performance? Or better yet, Best Kiss (with [insert your dream hottie here])? What would you say and do after Zac Efron hands you a Golden Popcorn? Write up a speech, put on a frock and recite it to your friends!

Eat some Golden Popcorn
Throw a bag of buttery delicious popcorn in the microwave to pop for snacking during the show. It’s a great substitute for the actual award trophy, which if eaten would definitely break your teeth. Throw in some Sour Patch Kids for extra tasty pizazz.

You make the MTV Awards happen! Check out the list of awards and nominees and vote for all your favorites now.

Will Jennifer Lawrence get her silver lining in the form of a Golden Popcorn? Which beefcake will sizzle in our brand-new Best Shirtless Performance category? It’s up to you to decide the winners of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards! Vote now, and tune in Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET, as star Rebel Wilson takes the stage at the Sony Pictures Studios lot in Culver City, California.
