This train car named "Divergent" continues to barrel down the tracks. Just days after news broke that Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q and Ansel Elgort had signed on for roles in the dystopian adaptation comes word from Variety that Dauntless has found its leader in the form of actor Jai Courtney.
Fans of Veronica Roth's best-selling novel know Eric as the ruthless, win-at-all-costs greasy-haired head of protagonist Tris' faction—and antagonist to her love interest Four. (Watch out for this one, ladies!)
Jai's been a hot Hollywood property of late, landing roles in Tom Cruise's "Jack Reacher" (where his villainy was on full display—he's got this) and Bruce Willis' "A Good Day to Die Hard." And this is certainly not his first brush with a hot book property: In 2011, he was one of a handful of strapping hunks testing for the role of Jared in "The Host." (A part that eventually went to Max Irons.)
The Australian actor joins previously announced cast member Shailene Woodley (as Tris) for the film that will debut March 21, 2014.
Now can we get to casting Four already?
