Last night, for the first time in history, we announced the full list of MTV Movie Awards nominees in our live, glorious, never-to-be-duplicated Nominations Spectacular! And we’re not gonna lie, y’all: It was amazing. But if you missed it, don’t cry! …No, seriously, stop crying, you’re getting all splotchy and it’s freaking us out. Here, you want to know who scored a spot on our list of contenders to win the Golden Popcorn? Grab a tissue, and grab onto something, because we’re going to tell you everything worth knowing about who’s hot this year.
First up, our favorite category for this year’s awards: Best Female Performance. It’s a veritable girl crush buffet, as Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Mila Kunis, Emma Watson and our very own Awards host Rebel Wilson picked up nominations for their work.
And while there’s no shortage of amazing actors on the guys’ side of the aisle, we think you’ll be most, er, interested in Channing Tatum’s nomination for “Magic Mike” (which gives a whole new level of meaning to the words “Best Male Performance.” Mmmm-hmm.)
And of course, no article about nominations we love would be complete without a nod to the delicious naked pecs that made our movie-going year: the Best Shirtless Performance category is absolutely chocked with beefcakey goodness, from Daniel Craig and Christian Bale as Shirtless Bond and Shirtless Batman, to (naturally!) Channing Tatum as Magic Mike, to Taylor Lautner as everyone’s favorite ab-tastic shapeshifter in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.”
But those are just our faves; if you want to see the complete list, you’ll be wanting to click over to MTV News to read all about it! And then come back, and we’ll talk about Channing Tatum’s pecs some more, yeah? YEAH.
Will Jennifer Lawrence get her silver lining in the form of a Golden Popcorn? Which beefcake will sizzle in our brand-new Best Shirtless Performance category? It’s up to you to decide the winners of the 2013 MTV Movie Awards! Vote now, and tune in Sunday, April 14 at 9 p.m. ET, as star Rebel Wilson takes the stage at the Sony Pictures Studios lot in Culver City, California.
