Jennifer Lawrence Gives MTV Some Super-Sweet Thanks In Her SAG Acceptance Speech

Good morning, superstars! What'd you do this weekend? Mm-hmm, that sounds nice...and us? Oh, nothing—nothing much, just laid around being famous and awesome after getting namedropped by the hottest girl in Hollywood at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

YEAH WE DID. And if you tuned in to last night's SAG Awards, you, too, might have noticed that Jennifer Lawrence gave thanks to a certain network during her acceptance speech for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in "Silver Linings Playbook"...and that network, of course, was MTV. Because fun fact: Jennifer got her SAG card, that all-important entry pass into the professional actors' universe, by doing a funny little promo for our age-old reality show classic, "My Super Sweet 16" when she was just 14 years old.

That's right, fanboys: but for MTV's determined documentation of terrifyingly wealthy teenage debutantes, the Jennifer Lawrence we know and love might never have taken the role that has her dominating this awards season. She might not even exist! We could be living in an upside-down, topsy-turvy reality where the young Mystique of "X-Men: First Class" was played by Emma Watson and Katniss Everdeen is played by Jonah Hill! ...Or, you know, something. (Actually, we're pretty sure that Jennifer would have found another path to success—although let's be real, it wouldn't have been anywhere near as fun as getting slapstick-splattered with a birthday cake.) Anyway! Point is, Jennifer Lawrence is now our best friend, and also the proud owner of a SAG Award, and we will be celebrating by watching her long-ago professional debut on a continuous loop all day.
