Who among us hasn’t had one of those dreams about Colin Firth as his dapper, cravat-clad alter ego Mr. Darcy from the BBC miniseries “Pride and Prejudice”? C’mon… don’t deny it! Fine, we won’t make you confess anything to us, but just in case this strikes a secret chord, may we recommend the Sundance Film Festival debut “Austenland”?
Based on the 2007 novel by Shannon Hale and produced by “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer, “Austenland” follows 30-something Jane Hayes, who blows her entire life savings on a trip to a Jane Austen-themed resort where women are entertained by Darcy-like performers.
To celebrate the film’s debut at the annual fest, we’ve gotten our lace-gloved fingers on an EXCLUSIVE first-look clip, which stars Keri Russell and a very big shotgun. Click play to take your inaugural trip to “Austenland”!
