‘Twilight’ Descends In 2012: A GIF Guide

When MTV News compiled its list of the Top 20 Newsmakers of 2012, it came as no surprise that Bella Swan and her vampire coven bit into the No. 1 spot for most click-worthy story of the year. After all, “The Twilight Saga” has been a part of the pop-culture consciousness for more than four years, bringing with it a fangirl army stronger than the most ravenous of newborn bloodsuckers. With a little more than two months until the film’s premiere, Summit served up a final look at “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” in which newly turned Bella seemed to be making her case against mountain lions.

But that was hardly the most surprising moment when the movie finally debuted in November. Though we had been warned of a twist ending, we were hardly prepared for this:

Which made us do this:

But it’s okay! Because it was all just a vision!

Except that part where “Twilight” is over.
