‘Vampire Academy’ Casting: Who Should Play Lissa?

With the news earlier this week that the big-screen adaptation of Richelle Mead’s young-adult series “Vampire Academy” had sunk its teeth into a screenwriter and script, we’ve been wearing one bootylicious indention into the Hollywood Crush Casting Couch, picking worthy actors and actresses to play our favorite characters. Today, we’re auditioning a trio of lovely ladies for the role of royal Moroi Vasilisa “Lissa” Dragomir.

Shadow-kissed alongside best friend Rose Hathaway, Lissa is quiet and kind, though suffers from the occasional mood swing thanks to her surging spirit powers. Like all Moroi, Lissa is tall and slender, with long blonde locks cascading down her back. With that in mind, here are our picks for the girl who would be queen.

Claire Holt
Bloodsucking is Claire Holt’s business. After all, the Australian actress is probably best known in the states for her role as feisty Original vamp Rebekah on The CW’s “Vampire Diaries.” But with a glimpse at her softer side as Samara on ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars,” we know she’s well-suited to play the sweet St. Vladimir student.

Gemma Ward
Another actress from Down Under, Gemma Ward made a splash last year as a mermaid in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.” Though she doesn’t boast a boat-load of on-screen experience, we think that could work to her benefit—we’d like to see a fresh face in this role. A beautiful, cherubic face, at that.

Imogen Poots
Brit Imogen Poots is set to have a big 2013, with no fewer than six projects debuting in the New Year. And did we mention she’s currently filming the romantic comedy “Are We Officially Dating?” alongside Zac Efron (sigh). There’s something about the actress that’s regal yet approachable all at once—qualities Lissa wears like a custom-made tiara.
