The Oscars get the glory and the Globes are always great, but still: When it comes to the year-end celebrations of Hollywood's finest, there's something so fun and cozy and insidery about the SAG Awards. The relaxed atmosphere, the giddy camaraderie, the fact that all the attendees seem just the slightest bit hammered by the time the evening is over...yep, we like it! And we like this, too: the part where the nominations come out and we get to find out who's in the running for this year's Hollywood professionals' popularity contest. Which nominees do we love?
For starters, our girl Jennifer Lawrence—with a well-deserved nod not for "The Hunger Games," but for her amazing performance in "Silver Linings Playbook". And if "Anne Hathaway and Hugh Jackman. (Also getting an ensemble nod: "Downton Abbey"! We knew Hollywood loved a good upstairs-downstairs drama as much as we did.)
Meanwhile, the nomination list for Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series reads like a dream: Claire Danes for "Homeland," Michelle Dockery and Maggie Smith for "Downton Abbey," Julianna Margulies for "The Good Wife," and Jessica Lange for "American Horror Story." Can we just give them all the award?
Which SAG nominees do you hope to see making an acceptance speech on the big night?
