If you've already snagged yourself a copy of the soundtrack to "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," you might have noticed that there's a strange similarity between the credits on the album, and the cast of the movie: Nikki Reed, who plays Rosalie Hale, shows up in both! Nikki, along with "American Idol"-atrous husband Paul McDonald, penned and performed the song "All I've Ever Needed" —and if you're wondering why, then guess what? She did it for you.
"I just wanted this for the fans, so much," she explained. "I wanted the fans to know how I connected with these films."
And while Nikki knows that her inclusion on the soundtrack might seem like a shoo-in—"I know everyone's gonna assume that just because I'm in the movies, it's like a given"—she told MTV News' Josh Horowitz that actually, it took a huge amount of time and effort to get the song in shape to make the cut.
"We waited eight months to hear, and it was yes and no and back and forth," she remembered. But she was committed! And now, the song is her gift to the fans, who she says she admires for their contributions to the "Twilight" universe just as much as they admire the cast for bringing the characters to life—including a nod to those who write songs and fan fiction about everyone's favorite vampire love story.
"It goes past just what the story is on-screen, and I feel those same things."
Are you excited to hear Nikki's song on the "Breaking Dawn" soundtrack?
