There's a new music video out for "The House at the End of the Street," the horror movie starring Jennifer Lawrence as a hapless teenager whose new neighborhood holds a scary secret or two—but before you watch it, beware. The clip lulls you into a false sense of security, letting you think you're enjoying a regular music video by the surprisingly talented Jennifer, who has a guitar in her lap and a sweet little song to sing about falling in love...and then BAM, you're sucked into a horror-flick remix in which Jennifer's vocals echo back, distorted, while she flees for her life from the demented basement-dwelling creepazoid who almost certainly wants to make a bathrobe out of her skin. GAH! Worst bait-and-switch ever. This is worse than being Rickrolled!
But despite the terrifying change-up from languid love song to haunted hijinks, it's a treat to hear Jennifer showing off her pretty voice. And with its delicious combination of horror story, teen romance and (maybe?) a little night music, we're that much more excited to catch "House at the End of the Street" when it opens in theaters September 21.
