Henry Cavill Faces ‘The Cold Light Of Day’ As Hump Day Hottie

Henry Cavill will hit the big screen this week in the thriller “The Cold Light of Day,” but his dashing, leading man good looks have been thrilling us for quite some time now. And, in honor of his hotness (and that is an understatement), we are naming him this week’s Hump Day Hottie.

Check out this dreamy photo of Henry and keep reading for more details about him!

Vital stats: Twenty-nine-year-old Henry is a Jersey boy. Well, he was born and raised on the island of Jersey in Europe’s Channel Islands before attending boarding school in England. Growing up, he kick started his acting career by performing in school plays. And the rest, as they say, is history.

These days Henry is single. He had been engaged to his longtime girlfriend, professional show jumper Ellen Whitaker, but the pair reportedly split last month after three years together.

Where you might have already seen him: He’s been acting professionally for about a decade, racking up roles on the big screen in “Tristan + Isolde,” “Whatever Works” and “Immortals.” He also had an extended stay on the sexy costume drama, “The Tudors.”

Why you should take notice of him now: This week he stars alongside Hollywood heavyweights Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver in the action thriller “The Cold Light of Day.”

Next year, he’s set to star as Superman himself in the reboot of the big screen franchise in “Man of Steel,” after missing out on a previous incarnation of the character and several other big-time roles (including James Bond and, yes, even Edward Cullen in “The Twilight Saga”).

“What I’ve heard, or pieced together from various sources, is that Stephenie [Meyer] had seen me in whatever jobs I had done previously, and I was probably perfect then,” he once confessed to MTV News about the role. “But then, the ravages of time had taken their toll.”

He’s also set to star in the mystery “The Great Wall” and is even one of the many names that have been tossed around to play the one and only Christian Grey in the film version of “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Until next week, when we choose another Hump Day Hottie, you can salute Henry by staring at the photo above!
