We’ve done a lot of speculating here on Hollywood Crush as to who will be cast as Christian and Ana in the film adaption of the steamy novel, "Fifty Shades of Grey." In Part 3 of our casting series, we paired "Vampire Diaries" hottie Ian Somerhalder with the adorable, yet saucy, Lucy Hale.
When we caught up with Lucy on the set of "Pretty Little Liars" recently, we asked her about support for her to play Ana in the “Fifty Shades” film.
"People have said that, but people have also said [I could play] the little sister, which I think could make sense, because I look a little young for Ana, but God, what a big role to take on," she said. "I'm really curious to see how it's all going to [play out]."
While Lucy plays a high school student on "Pretty Little Liars," she’s actually 23, one year older than Ana.
Lucy filled us in that she’s currently reading the sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker." As a fan of the books, she isn’t opposed to the idea of starring in the film, but also isn’t sure that she is ready to take on that kind of a role, just yet.
"I definitely am ready to take a step and do something a bit more risky, absolutely, but it's a fine line," she said. "I don't know what that fine line is, but I'm definitely ready to explore a darker side of my acting abilities."
If she did find herself in Christian's Red Room of Pain, would she let her parents see the movie?
"No, they would be banned!" she said. "My father, I don't even know. My mom, she's always been sort of really understanding, but my dad, even when he watches ['Pretty Little Liars'], he will be like, 'All right, I saw that scene with you and Ezra...' and I'm like, 'Dad, come on!' So it's still kind of like that, but I'm his little baby girl, so I get it."
If Ezria’s steamy office scene in "PLL" is any indication as to what Lucy would bring to the table in “Fifty Shades,” we’re on board! (Sorry, Dad.)
