Selena Gomez Probably Won't Star In 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Adaptation

Selena Gomez had no problem going "Fifty Shades of Blue" in a Funny or Die parody co-starring Nick Kroll, but she'll leave the color Grey to someone else, thankyouverymuch.

When we caught up with Selena recently at New York's Macy's Herald Square for the launch of her new fragrance, the starlet admitted that she hasn't made it through E.L. James' best-selling erotic novel, despite her memorable video.

"I only read the beginning of it, because when they told me about the skit, I didn't know what it was about," she told MTV News. "So I started to read it, and I was like, 'Oh, this is spicy.' So I thought it was good, it was intriguing. Obviously, it's working, so the skit was really funny."

Though the 19-year-old acknowledged that she's taking on more adult roles in films like "Spring Breakers," this particular adaptation and the role of naive Anastasia Steele may be too adult for her.

"I don't think so. I know I'm taking risks, but I don't think I could do that!" she said. "That would be a little too much for me. I think someone older should do that part."

Honestly, we kinda agree with Selena. After all, we're used to seeing Alex Russo waving a wand—not being spanked with it.
