Our favorite fandoms keep colliding! First, "Twilight" star Kristen Stewart reunited with "Hunger Games" hottie Josh Hutcherson (her "Zathura" co-star) at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. Now it looks like a certain "Harry Potter" villain wants in on the dystopian action.
Tom Felton recently told Popstop TV he's a big fan of the franchise and even attended the film's premiere. "I was very impressed. My girlfriend's an avid reader of the books and told me I had to go and see this film. It's awesome," he said. "I mean, it speaks for itself. The movie's going to be great. I can't wait for the next one now."
When asked if he'd be interested in playing a role in the sequel, "Catching Fire," he responded, "Oh yeah, for sure. For sure! I've been reading into this Finnick role. He's a pretty awesome character. You never know. Fingers crossed, one day! You never know."
And Tom may just have a shot at the part. While reports flooded in that Lionsgate narrowed down its final three contenders to Taylor Kitsch, Armie Hammer and Garrett Hedlund, the movie's producer Nina Jacobson told 24 Frames it's not true.
"That's the thing that's crazy—people are like way ahead of where we are. We've not narrowed things down by any means. It's funny to see how things can take on a life of their own."
Looks like you Felton fans can begin petitioning for the actor! Although, Nina went on to say there are pros and cons to taking fan opinion into account.
"It means something that people can see [an actor] in that light, so you know [the actor] will be accepted by a lot of people, on the one hand," she said. "On the other hand, you have to kind of ignore it. You have to just sort of act like you're sitting in a room and you want to just pick the person who gives the best audition and looks and feels most like the part."
