Though production is already in full swing, the casting news for Alcon Entertainment's film adaptation of "Beautiful Creatures" just keeps on coming. We couldn't be more thrilled because it's just another step closer to seeing Kami Garcia's and Margaret Stohl's best-selling novel on the big screen!
The latest: Variety reports that Kyle Gallner has been cast in the role of Larkin. The caster is a cousin to Lena Duchannes (Alice Englert) and brother to Ridley (Emmy Rossum). As an illusionist he can manipulate objects around him to look like something they're not, and while he isn't a main character, Larkin does play a key role in certain events surrounding the story's climax (but we don't want to give too much away, so make sure you pick up the book!).
You may recognize Kyle from a few of his previous roles. The up-and-coming actor starred in the most recent remake of "Nightmare on Elm Street," as well as "Jennifer's Body," where he gave into Megan Fox's tempting advances. And apparently casting directors find him very beautiful (we agree!) as he also starred in the indie drama, "Beautiful Boy."
"Beautiful Creatures" is set for release in February 2013, and the cast is currently filming in New Orleans. (In fact, we recently took a trip to the set, so make sure to stay tuned for those goodies!)
