It’s time for another meeting of Hollywood Crush’s Celebrity Book Club!
Dayo Okeniyi is no stranger to the best-seller list. He did star as tribute Thresh in the big-screen adaptation of “The Hunger Games,” after all. But when we ran into the actor recently, we wanted to know what books not authored by Suzanne Collins he had resting on his nightstand.
“I’ve been reading ’The Alchemist’ like every—four or five times a year,” he revealed. “It’s a life changer, one of those kinds of books. I’m a little obsessed with that book right now.”
Penned by Paulo Coelho, “The Alchemist” is an allegorical tale which follows a young shepherd boy on a search for treasure in Egypt, inspired by a recurring dream. The book has sold more than 65 million copies worldwide and a film adaptation has been in the works for a while now (though not much news has surfaced since Harvey Weinstein bought the rights back in 2009). Perhaps Dayo could find himself in another silver-screen take of a beloved novel?
