Max Greenfield’s Schmidt probably shouldn’t leave us swooning week after week on “New Girl.” He’s bizarre, narcissistic and status-obsessed. But underneath all that bravado is a good friend who just wants to seem cooler than he really is. Add to that the fact that he’s often not wearing a shirt, and he’s sort of won us over and earned this week’s Hump Day Hottie title.
Check out this dreamy photo of Max and keep reading for more details about him!
Vital stats: The 31-year-old is from New York state, and a fun fact about him: He had a “Saturday Night Live”-themed Bar Mitzvah. Well, it seems his love of comedy has rubbed off in real life too. He recently revealed to GQ that he likes to joke around on Twitter.
“I love Twitter,” he said. “My favorite thing to do these days is to Tweet things that seem very questionable as to whether I’m joking or not. Like I just tweeted, ‘Boom!’ along with a picture of Scotty McCreery’s album and some people really didn’t get it. Some responded, ‘Oh my God, this is hilarious.’ And then there were other people who went, ‘Um, are you really buying that?’”
Something we’re not laughing about? The fact that he’s married with a kid.
Where you might have already seen him: He’s been all over TV thanks to recurring roles on shows like “Veronica Mars,” “Greek,” “Ugly Betty” and “Raising The Bar.”
Why you should take notice of him now: He’s “New Girl”’s breakout star. His character, Schmidt, keeps us laughing thanks to his constant need to give off the impression that he’s a carefree bachelor and ladies’ man on the LOL-worthy Fox sitcom. In the end, he’s more into his hook-up, Cece, than he’d like to believe.
“I think a true narcissist wants to please his partner in bed because he knows, he doesn’t want to read poor reviews in the paper the next day,” Max once explained to us about why Cece just can’t enough of him. “Can you imagine that? It takes a lot of work.”
Until next week, when we choose another Hump Day Hottie, you can salute Max by staring at the photo above!
