How I Met My Hollywood Crush: Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush

Big Time RushLet's be honest, we all have a Hollywood Crush—a cutie whose sheer existence inspires countless fever dreams and inestimable hours of Google Image gawking. For a lucky few, those fantasies become reality when faced with said real life. Welcome to our new weekly feature, How I Met My Hollywood Crush, in which readers recall the time they rubbed elbows with their special celebrity someone!

Former Nickelodeon intern Marianne Peralta tells us what happened when she had a surprise opportunity to hang out with this band of cuties in person. Do you have a story to share? Send it to mtvhollywoodcrush(at), and it could appear here!

I had heard about Big Time Rush from a few of my friends who were fans. They invited me on several occasions to go see them live, but I was either working or busy. Last semester I had the opportunity to intern with Nickelodeon and was introduced to Big Time Rush more formally. I immediately fell in love and became a huge fan. I had seen one episode at Nickelodeon, then went home that weekend and caught up on season one and the beginning of season two.

I had the opportunity to meet them at their CD signing in Palisades, New York, and then their acoustic flash concert in Times Square. The signing was one of those quick sign-the-CD kind of things, so you had less than one minute to spend with the band before being herded off by security. But then my supervisor at Nickelodeon called to tell me that I'd be attending the taping for a live stream web chat they were filming the next day! Another Nickelodeon intern and I got to sit in and watch the filming.

After it was over, my supervisor was determined for me to meet the band, knowing that I was a huge fan. She told me and the other intern to follow her to where the band was still on stage and introduced us to the boys: Logan, Kendall, Carlos and James. We got to go up on stage and talk with them for a little bit. They were so sweet and funny. They even gave us hugs. It was very hard to be professional, when I was pretty much speechless. James even remembered me from the signing the day before! Logan had asked me if I had gotten the album, and which song was my favorite. I couldn't choose and just told him that the whole thing was amazing! My supervisor had asked the photographer to take pictures of us interacting with the boys. Kendall even had me pose for funny picture with him. After a few minutes of talking we had taken a group picture with the band. They even stayed and took a few pictures with members in the audience despite the flight they had to catch to Texas right after the interview.

I saw them during their Better With U Tour with this past winter at Radio City Music Hall, they were amazing! And I can't wait to see them again this summer at PNC Bank Arts Center on their Big Time Summer Tour!
