It's here! The first official photo of AnnaSophia Robb as "The Carrie Diaries" teenage protagonist. As you can see, the show’s title character sure dresses like one. With a full, sequined-covered dress—belted, of course—red stiletto heels and green animal-print sweater, this outfit screams adult Carrie with a cheeky '80s twist.
Fashion is sure to be just as pertinent to The CW pilot as it was to "Sex and the City," and the bar is set high by adult Carrie’s fashionista legacy. The show’s costume designer, Eric Damon, knows what he is getting into, explaining in a release from Warner Bros: "It's a rare invitation to dress a character whose reputation truly precedes her. Having played a hand in designing for the Carrie we know and love, I am honored to be chosen to carry the torch—to illuminate the woman we know by discovering the young lady she was."
With a smile on her face, the Queensboro Bridge in the background, and a killer outfit, AnnaSophia is just what we want for a young Carrie Bradshaw. It will be fun to see what other influences the '80s and her youth have on her style, and on the "The Carrie Diaries."
