Dayo Okeniyi Plays 'The Hunger Games' As This Week’s Hump Day Hottie

In a sea of "Hunger Games" hotties, we want to shed some light on one tribute in particular. Dayo Okeniyi is one of the many good-looking folks in the flick, out Friday, which also includes leading dudes and former HDHs Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson. So, before "THG" hits your local theater this weekend we're reaping the benefits of his casting and naming him this week’s Hump Day Hottie.

Check out this dreamy photo of Dayo and keep reading for more details about him!

Vital stats: As a kid in Lagos, Nigeria, Dayo started acting in local theater before he and his family moved to the U.S. He is the youngest of five kids and received a degree in visual communications design in 2009. He then decided to pursue a career in acting and moved to L.A., a life decision we can certainly support.

Where you might have already seen him: He’s fairly new to the world of acting, having only appeared in two shorts, “Eyes To See” and “Lions Among Men.”

Why you should take notice of him now: In “The Hunger Games” he plays the silent warrior from District 11, Thresh. He was plucked to participate in the Hunger Games along with Katniss’ ill-fated pal, Rue. While his fate was as grim as Rue’s, he puts up a good fight.

“We tried to make the best version of Suzanne Collins book we could make,” he told E! Online about adapting the novel for the big screen. "I don’t think Lionsgate or Gary Ross set out to make the next 'Twilight' and we felt that on set. Gary was always about the story, about the characters, always about the heart."

Next up, he’s set to star in “Slew Hampshire” and “Prairie Dogs.”

Until next week, when we choose another Hump Day Hottie, you can salute Dayo by staring at the photo above!
