Sad but true: Awards season sometimes isn't the most exciting time for crushy news coverage (unless, of course, you're the proprietor of a blog called F--- Yeah! Historical Biopics and/or Meryl Streep). But this year? Oh, man, this year is gonna be awesome. Because the Golden Globes nominations are in, and lo, they are fantastic. So when it comes time to tune in for the awards ceremony on January 15, you can bet we'll be keeping a watchful eye on a few key categories. Which noms have the Crush staff so psyched? Check it:
First off: Hey girl, prepare yourself for a double hit of Ryan Gosling; not only is he the rightful heir to the Sexiest Man Alive throne, he's up for best actor in a drama for "The Ides of March", and best actor in a comedy for "Crazy, Stupid, Love." (What's that? You need another reason to watch? Well, fine: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is also up for best comedy actor for his performance in "50/50.") And finally, rounding out the eye candy: Michael Fassbender, with a nomination for best actor (drama) in "Shame."
Meanwhile, our favorite ladies got a collective nod with nominations for best picture (comedy) for "Bridesmaids," and best actress (comedy) for Kristen Wiig. Rooney Mara earned a nomination for best actress (drama) for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." And on the small screen, Claire Danes is up for best actress in a TV drama for "Homeland," while Zooey Deschanel earned a nod in the comedy category for "New Girl."
