Jake Abel In Talks For 'The Host': You Called It!

Jake AbelWe don't know whether y'all are psychic or just have exceptional taste, but you Crushers are clearly on to something with your intuitive casting picks for upcoming films!

Just one week after Hollywood Crush readers voted Jake Abel as the No. 1 choice to play Ian in the cinematic adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's "The Host," word comes via Deadline that the gorgeous, golden-haired actor is in negotiations for the very same role. How do you do it? And what other secret secrets about the future do you know? (Specifically: Is the world really going to end in 2012? And if so, is there any chance of seeing Alex Pettyfer do a nude scene before the coming apocalypse?)

But back to "The Host" news: Jake is in talks for his second starring role opposite Saoirse Ronan, having previously worked with her in "The Lovely Bones." And while he'll need a dye job to match the literary description of his character (sigh, doesn't everyone?), we think he's the perfect pick to play the emotionally conflicted Ian.

Meanwhile, Liam Hemsworth, Kit Harington, Jai Courtney and Max Irons are all still in contention for the role of Jared, the other love interest for Saoirse's character. But you probably already knew that. Will our poll's frontrunner, Kit Harington, win out? ...No, seriously: Will he?! We're asking you!

And pssst, we know you like Jake in this role, but what do you think now that it looks like he's got it? Tell us in the comments and on Twitter!
