We already knew the "Twilight" trio were pretty big deals, but now our grandchildren's grandchildren will forever know the names of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner as they imprinted their palms, soles and signatures at the iconic Chinese Theatre today.
Joining the ranks of Marilyn Monroe, Brad Pitt and that other film franchise threesome (ahem, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint), Rob, Kristen and Taylor were all smiles during the ceremony, which was hosted by late-nighter Jimmy Kimmel. "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer also shared a few words about the stars, saying she couldn't have been more proud of their honor.
"I think this is really awesome, and I know how much they appreciate your ardent support," she told the amassed crowd. "Their lives have changed a lot in the last few years, and they've done it with such class and an amazing ability to stay balanced and who they are."
Rob, Kristen and Taylor each gave their own speeches, thanking Twilighters for their love. And as you may have guessed, the award for most quotable soundbite went to Mr. Pattinson.
"This is incredibly scary, and I also forgot how hot L.A. was. I shouldn't have worn a suit," he joked. "Thank you guys so—this is such an indescribable honor for how young we are... You should all come up here and put your hands in!"
If only we could have, Rob.
