New York Fashion Week: Tracy Reese Gets Romantic

By Christina Garibaldi

Backstage at a fashion show is probably one of the most hectic environments to be in: there are models to be fitted, makeup to be done and hair to be set! There are so many people doing a million different jobs that it's hard to take in the scene. Yet when you're a Fashion Week veteran like designer Tracy Reese, the insanity is just part of the fun.

"It's pretty crazy, but it's controlled," Tracy told us. "Everybody is about their business. It seems crazy, but everyone is really focused."

And the most focused one of them all? Obviously, the designer herself. But that doesn't mean she wasn't a little nervous to debut her new 2012 spring line at New York Fashion Week.

"I definitely get nervous. You're anxious to see it all come together and then it happens so fast," Tracy revealed. "We are in and out in ten minutes. Weeks and weeks and weeks of preparation boiled down to these ten minutes, and you want it to be the best you can make it."

Well Tracy, we have to say, we absolutely loved the line! The show was filled with bright colors and ready-to-wear clothing that left us feeling we can’t wait for the spring season.

'I wanted to do something very romantic, an ode to spring," Tracy gushed. "The clothes are very romantic, but very useful, very wearable. A lot of great color, brights, hot pinks, neons, beautiful blues, but the whole range from a sweet misty blue to a dark strong peacock, pops of yellow and pretty neutrals to balance the whole thing out."
